DIY Holiday Light Decor

Get your hula hoops and get to lighting

It’s more than a dance…but it will make you want to

The holidays call for Hallmark movies, and what does every Hallmark movie include? Whether we roll our eyes at it or not… romance. Forging a hula hoop into a gorgeous chandelier may not sound romantic, but wait until you bask beneath its glow.

If the Hallmark movies haven’t put you in the mood yet, this DIY project may help you catch a spark during the most romantic time of year. In a holiday season full of lights everywhere, here is a way for you to keep up with the theme of lights, and display them in a more original way than you typically see.

What you’ll need:

  1. Hula hoop = $1 from the Dollar Store
  2. 3 rolls of lace
  3. Icicle style white Christmas lights
  4. Hot glue gun

How to do it:

  1. Wrap the lights around the hula hoop and let the icicles dangle.
  2. Wrap and glue the lace around the hula hoop to hide its colors.
  3. Hang from the ceiling using lace or lights.

That’s a wrap.

Now you’ll be ready to enjoy the glow that these lights give—whether cozied up with a mug of hot chocolate or dancing the night away to, you guessed it, Mariah. Although holidays can inflict stress, this DIY will set a mood that lets you unwind all while keeping spirits alive.
